How to Use the Lat Pulldown Bar with Handles for a Stronger, More Controlled Pull
Set the Pulley High
Secure the lat pulldown bar to the upper pulley using the added caribiner. Adjust your cable machine seat and knee pad so your feet remain planted and your thighs stay firmly in place during the pull.
Choose from Wide Grip or Closer Pull
Hold the knurled centre section for wide-grip lat pulldowns. Use the curved scoop-style handles when you want a closer pulling position. Keep your wrists comfortable and avoid gripping the bar harder than necessary.
Keep Your Torso Stable
Sit upright with your chest lifted and lean back slightly. Brace your core to stop the weight from pulling your torso forwards as you begin each rep.
Drive Your Elbows Down
Pull the bar towards your upper chest by driving your elbows down and back. Move through the elbows to keep more focus on the lats.
Control the Return
Slowly extend your arms until you feel a controlled stretch through your lats. Keep tension through your back and do not allow the weight stack to pull the bar upwards or slam between reps.
Use a Comfortable and Manageable Load
Choose a resistance that is comfortable for your motion. Increase the weight gradually once you can keep your torso stable and control both the pull and return.
